Sensei Prozac, how do you work with pigment powders. I'm trying to paint this crate of bananas thats crashed in the desert and just sprinkling on some powder gives nice dusty look, but I need to drown this shit in varnish so it stays together in a bag etc for boardgaming (its a mission objective for my ape army in Dust Tactics) and if I do that all the powder look gets washed way.

EDIT: would spraying on varnish then applying powder before it hardens work?

There's lot of ways to get it stick.

1. Brush varnish on the spot then sprinkle it on. Use brush to move it needed.

2. There's product called pigment fixer. First you apply your pigments then dip the stuff in with a wide brush.

3. Mix varnish and pigment in a small cup then apply to where you want them.

4. Just apply the pigments dry with your brush after everything else if finished.

I suggest trying different ways.

And yes, never spray varnish after the pigments, it destroys the effect.

I just ordered some Black 2.0 from Stuart Semple, will likely arrive next week. While not specifically on topic to this thread, I'm looking for ideas on what to paint "so black one can't really tell if it's a silhouette or an actual object".
I'll probably even post results.
First thing on list is an old microsoft mouse if nothing else springs to mind.
