In case you missed it a whole bunch of information regarding the upcoming Version 1.5 update for Genshin Impact has been making the rounds online. The sheer amount of leaks about the new content even led to developer miHoYo issuing a public statement in English about it. Given that the Version 1.4 update "Invitation of Windblume," only just released Version 1.5 is likely still some ways off from releasing but if there's one significant takeaway from the leaks it's the fact that player housing appears to be on the way.

"Recently we discovered the dissemination of leaked version 1.5 content," the studio said in a tweet on Wednesday. "Such behavior not only disrupts our plans to develop and promote the new version but also causes some Travelers to have misconceptions about the content of the new version. Here we kindly ask for the support and help of all Travelers to resist leaks and maintain a fair gaming environment. We will also increase our efforts to deal with such illegal disclosures."

These leaks suggest that the two new characters for Genshin Impact update 1.5 will be Eula and Yanfei/Feiyan.

Eula is said to be a five star Cryo character from Mondstadt meanwhile Yanfei/Feiyan is said to be four star Pyro from Liyue.

It’s not official that either of these two characters are coming out and there’s also rumours concerning a Zhongli rerun banner much like Venti.

The Zhongli rerun is said to be likely according to Zeniet on Twitter but remember that none of this is official and that miHoYo have tweeted in response to the leaks that they can cause travelers to have misconceptions about what’s actually coming out.

While leaks feel like an inevitable part of live service games I can sympathize with MiHoYo wanting to stop players from getting the wrong idea about what an update might contain. As GamesRadar notes previous leaked characters have sparked some major drama in the community. Back in 2020 Geo polearm-wielder Zhongli had his abilities leaked while he was only available in the beta. Before he was properly released however MiHoYo heavily nerfed his powers which sparked outrage from players who expected him to be unchanged from the beta.

This isn't the first time MiHoYo has gone after leakers.
