so like is this some kind of full on retarded chunky way to try and prove law isn't a scrub tier subject? because so far you are failing spectacularly

nope just doing my normal posting~

Halarach don't be retarded, I never said rape was worse. I just argued for it. My view is that murder is a worse crime but I think rapists (especially child rapists) are worse human beings (that should be kept out of society) generally speaking.

haha. ok murder is so obviously a worse crime "in general". Most importantly I dont think you can really compare them without being specific cases, ESPECIALLY considering point 2: I'd probably feel more inclined to hang out with a murderer because tbh murder can be motivated sometimes, but rape really never can (and in the cases it can I want to talk to you even less).

also male rape is very common but doesnt get reported as much because of social stigmas and whatnot.

how can rape not be motivated, some person fucks you over, then you have compassion and rape that person instead of robbing them of the rest of their life and murdering them.
anyway its a disgrace to murder victims to even have this "discussion"

ok, lets take it to the extreme then.

"dude rapes a kid" vs "a woman was bullied and beaten for years by her husband, growing more and more desperate and finally kills her tormentor". see cant really just go "murder be da worse!"

by chance, you meet an interesting man at a social event, and end up discussing a various amount of topics. you find him to be a very calm yet energetic, and well-read person. when you end up discussing crime and whether prisoners are given too much slack these days, he makes the shocking revelation of having been in prison once. you man up and ask him what was it for, thinking it's no big deal - maybe some economic crime or whatnot. shockingly, he reveals he was convicted of raping a minor.

you have the option of hearing his story or cutting him short. his story is in the spoiler.

Spoiler:
"My daughter was four years old when she was abducted from in front of our house and raped by my then seventeen-year-old school-dropout neighbour. The guy had absolutely no empathy for her and forced her so hard she never made it to school. She was unable to testify and the little shit of a neighbour would have only been convicted for abduction, but not for ruining her childhood and life. I decided to take matters into my own hands to put him through the pain she caused my little girl. I smashed in his door, tied him up and proceeded to rape him with every household item i could find. When a large and rusty spray can had finally got stuck, I spit in his face and made him promise not to hurt anyone again, before I called the police for myself and the ambulance for him. After that, I faced the consequences of my actions."

after your decision, he looks at you in a calm manner and says it's ok to walk away from him, because he's used to the stigma by now.

do you walk away?
if you do, did you hear him out or went by 'omg rapist, shit i'm leaving'?

the kid killed his wife so yes it was justified.

Don't argue a revenge crime vs a motiveless crime, cuz the motiveless crime will always look worse.

still think murder is worse, especially in that poor example, woman should have gone to the authorities before acting out.

my point was that looking at it without context when comparing is retarded. also Otters dude sounds hardcore, but fucking scary. I'd probably go "good on ya mate" (hes obviously aussie) and run the fuck away.

I've come to the conclusion that you can't compare the two without fact scenarios. Each and every murder is different. edit: like moral just said, you can't compare them objectively.

HOWEVER you can kinda compare the most common types of each.

Your general murder (the one that is most committed) are ones of passion. Where some shit happened to them by the other person so they killed the other person. It's motivated.

Your general rape where the person actually gets convicted isn't motivated by outside factors but rather sexual gratification

In practice most murderers would not murder again nor do they want to murder again at the very least they don't 'feel' like murdering. Rapists who have committed 'real rape' have an urge to do it.

(yes you can talk about serial killers, however, they aren't your 'general' murderers)

So I guess I could conclude your general rapist is a worse person than your general murderer ?

edit: I was waiting for the end of that story to go "I was the father" seeing as otter sounds all hardcore. But yeah, hardcore father, +rep to him

who cares who is the better person, murder is the worse crime. you shouldn't punish bad persons, you should punish bad actions.
