so nexus just because you think feminist have a point it justifies someone spending 5 years doing a degree on the subject?
would you support a 5 year vegan studies major because there are good reasons not to eat meat?
i think theres prolly more to study in terms of material for women's studies
here's an example i found in the uk from university of york, which is a pretty good uni. they seem to only offer one year MAs in differing fields of gender studies.
http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/cws/prospective/index.htm(note; it's funny that despite their being feminists they still picked (presumably) one of the prettier students to be the face of their course - male gaze much?)
here for example is the prospectus for the straight "women's studies" MA
Difference, Diversity & Change
Work, Politics & Culture
Qualitative Methods
Interdisciplinary Methods in Women's Studies
choice of one of the following:
Feminism and Sexuality
Diaspora and Gendered Identity
Feminist Cultural Activism
Gendering the Exotic, Exoticising Gender
Women, Citizenship and Conflict
Gender, Violence and Justice
Sexualities, Genders and Modernities
From the Body Politic to the Body Beautiful
New Directions in Feminist Thought
then
Quantitative Methods & Data Analysis
and a dissertation
having looked through it seems reasonably meaty. what's the issue here? are you rejecting the idea that there's even anything to study about women?
you don't think there's any merit in taking a critical approach to the way in which gender roles have dictated the way society has worked in the past and still do in the present or what? i mean we could just get rid of philosophy if you think that sort of thing is pointless idk??
i guess i just think your question is retarded. of course we already have a similar field of study to "vegan studies", it's nutrition. do you not think that's a valuable field or wat?
or were you just trying to make a flippant comment based on two things that you consider laughable? i rly don't get your question at all.
