There is no way I will ever believe any unemployment statistic originating in the UK. Every government since the 80s has changed the way it's calculated to make it ever lower, last I heard it was "A person out of work, but available to work, claiming a very specific social benefit which you can only actually claim for about 6 weeks before you go onto other benefits instead, also you must be attending jobseeker classes and attend 18 interviews a week. Otherwise, you're not counted as unemployed."* They have an exciting definition of "Economically inactive" for unemployed people they don't want showing up in the stats.

In my lifetime I expect to see laws drawn up restricting the manner in which data can be interpreted to prevent people from making any graph, chart or dataset that highlights differences along racial backgrounds. This law will be to protect certain white people from feeling additionally guilty for being white. To ensure more people feel the guilt, they will likely spin it as being a negative influence for our children to feel the additional, improved and unrelenting white guilt that will be forced upon them so that we accept a law that protects them from it, thusly increasing the guilt in a delicious guilt cycle.
It will become "racism" to break yourself free of the White Guilt Cycle.

I do have an amazing idea for a novel (doesn't everybody?), but it would require more research and attention to detail than I can be bothered with. Also, did you know that J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter was rejected by twelve publishing houses before one of them decided to chance it?

After writing my novel, I don't think I could really deal with that shit.
