Philosophy really, at least imo, requires group discussion. For most people I don't think reading a book will give you the full grasp of how someone is thinking. Anyway I'm really glad I did philosophy during my undergrad.

I really don't get how you can say it's useless either. I mean, a decent amount of how western society is today can be sourced back to the original Greek philosophers and the way they thought.
