the OD guy i was in a car with some friends and we were waiting for someone then driving to a place. as we were waiting at the traffic lights (when they were working. for a few months the city couldn't afford electricity so traffic lights were off in many parts of downtown), i saw this bloke sitting down on the pavement, sitting against the wall. he looked seriously ill and as his mate (i assume) ran out of the back alley next to where he was sitting, the guy started seizing up and there was some stuff coming out of his mouth. he stopped moving about 30 seconds later and the stuff was just dripping down his face out of his mouth.

by this point my friends driving were like "yeah we need to get out of here" and i was like "no, hold the fuck up, let's call an ambulance". they just refused point-blank to get out and check on him, they were too scared that it was a trick or that they might have to speak to police but before i dug my heels and got pissy with them, another homeless guy rolled up with a phone and started dialling. i assume he was calling the ambulance but my friends drove off before we could check.

i tried to mention it afterwards and they all blanked it and pretended it hadnt happened. it was really fucked up.

the other guy was... yeah i'm not sure he was dead but i think it was a safe assumption. it was around here, maybe a block or so either direction i'm not sure

i was walking back from a friend's place, around 10pm or later. it was in winter and bitterly, bitterly cold. maybe -5/10C, probably less as it was so windy. either way i was wearing multiple layers. as i walked down out past the turnoff of the motorway i noticed a figure just jutting out above the grass that wasn't moving. i walked over (probably i shouldn't have, it's not a nice area) and had a look. it was a homeless guy lying on the grass, with his shit and his little cardboard sign scattered all around him... just lying on the grass next to a busy road, not moving at all.

honestly i should have checked on him or something but i was alone and just freaked the fuck out and decided to just bounce in case anything happened to me.

that is so fucked up. I can understand not checking on someone if its a shitty neighborhood and you are alone, because the risk is pretty high, but if you are with friends wtf.
