Bees, literally the ultimate communists. "Air conditioner bee" Imagine being that bee. You're born, first thing you're told is 'hi, see that entrance? yes? go flap your wings for 6 weeks until you die, ty"

I like the disclaimer that starts at 01:50, maybe if most eve-o forum posts, hell any forum posts, started with that disclaimer things in the world would seem less tense.

Possibly in some bee varieties. Not quite, but yes, for most types though.
Right off the bat, this information is not accurate, because I'm still learning and the life cycle is something I've not yet observed or read enough about.
Bees go something like this.
Egg - Maybe 1 day Open Larvae - Maybe 3 days Sealed Larvae - Maybe 6 days New borns feed Open Larvae - Maybe 5 days Then they do house work, building comb, removing dead bees. - Maybe a week. Then they become foragers outside the hive - Maybe 3 weeks. Then they are dead.
But it's not so cut and dry, because some bees get to tend the queen exclusively I think. Also there are drones to consider. They are the males and literally they don't do ANYTHING except feed up and go have sex.
Only a male bee having sex literally explodes his semen into the queen he mates with. John Hurt in Alien style explosion. That's how it gets into her, explosively. There's no cuddling and trying again. There is only exploding and dying.

Update for Morel's workmates.
I went out today to remove the artifical feeders, both hives are well active during the day, so they can feed themselves without my help, I ain't raisin' no sissies.
In my clumsy ass installation of the frame I left way to much gap and they started building a comb down from the queen excluder.
They started getting mad at me for breaking that off, and some other comb they were building right where I didn't need it. I had to fish out the queen cages from the bottom of the hive too, they're back up top of the frames.
Here's an in hive action shot... the dangly comb landed on the frame tops when I broke it off, they started trying to drag it down into the hive, but we stole it. It's by my computer now.
Edit imgur picture. Also I gave the comb to a guy at work, lolknows what he wants to do with it.
You can see the brown feeder frame bucket I went in there to remove.
And the smoke didn't work half as well tonight, as soon as I started dicking around with the comb and queens, they got immediately interested in us.
I was hoping the queens were going to have been released by now, I might have to start reading up on emergency queen release procedures or something.
