Pretty sure bees are good with housekeeping, they remove dead bees/other debris themselves

Shiroi's right, in fact the very first job a regular worker bee has to do when it's born is clean the cell it came out of. No going out to play until your room is tidy.
As for dying bees, they do a Captain Oates, when a bee decides it's too sick, old or just a burden it does the decent thing instead of like me, sitting in the corner, taking up space, eating all the food, going senile and flinging sperm at pretty nurses who are only trying to wipe sick off my arse, at least that is how I'm hoping to go out.

At the weekend I fed the National (Ugly) hive, they've recently made it clear they want to live, so I've pitched them some sugar solution, forlornly coming to terms that these guys won't be making me any honey this year.
So anyway today, they went kinda chaos on me. I'm used to chaos now, the WBC (Pretty) hive has been producing chaos in abundance over the months.

I'll wrap these next 4 in a spoiler because I'm not resizing them. You have to imagine these things are doing like 10 mph. By the time the photo is stored, the bees you see in the photo are either flown away or in the hive. That may give some indication of just how much turbulence these things look like. Luckily it's really bright today and the camera can pick them up and operate it's shutter fast enough to catch them as individuals instead of motion blurs.

This is why I don't go inside them during the heat of the day.

No, the greeks reckon they are ok with it, their kids play in a fully vertically netted trampoline, which you can actually see in the last big picture, they can see the bees easily from there but the bees would never fly downwards into it for any reason.
Their little lad, he's about 10, says they bother him "because they fly around and stuff". So I told him that I've told my bees to fly the other way, so if he sees any more, they're not mine. He bought it.
So they will be cool until an ant or a wasp bites one of their 6 or 8 kids and they decide it's a bee sting and demand that I get rid of the bees.

The old guy next door the other side hasn't said a thing either, though he has started having an unusual number of bonfires in his back garden. But I've only lived here a year, maybe it's not unusual for him this time of year. I can't imagine he'd want to ward off bees though, he appears to be an avid gardener.

When it's up like that, one tends to avoid it. Standing in front of the hive is generally considered suicidal. Standing to the side you should be perfectly fine. You won't feel fine though. The Beenado is generally within a 60 degree scanning radius forwards from the exit hole and they're all within 4au.
