The most ridiculous example of this "theatre of correctness" that i have personally heard of was from some eurobureaucrat, don't remember from where exactly, sounded french-ish. His wife was working in some kind of a gvt office, something to do with kids. Disaster struck and both the head of their department and her 2IC died in a car crash, they were both women. Welp - got to get new employees. A human resources agency then arranged for like 20+ prospective candidates.

The twist of this though was that everyone knew that no man would be selected, because a quota dictated the spots would be for females only. But they needed to appear oh-so-politically-correct, so they held an entire equality circus performance: academic-style tests, motivational letters, interviews etc etc, then threw everything the male applicants had submitted into the dustbin, and proceeded to evaluate the women only. What was even more mind-boggling was that the person told this story with a brainwashed smile and really believed such theatre had anything to do with actual equality.

Could you give a few examples of this btw from an opportunity standpoint? I'm sure you're not the kind of person who yells 'oppression!' when a man opens a door for a woman, or when scientific research shows that women give birth to 100% of the population (very inequal i know), so I'm genuinely interested.
