Yet after all that the English voters still put the Tories back in
I've been thinking about Thatcher a lot lately. It seems to me that everything she did, she did in the interests of the Conservative Party, not for Britain, nor for herself, not even for England, but specifically the Conservative Party.
Yeah we put the Conservatives back in, but it wasn't really that bad once she'd gone, John Major, Ian Duncan Smith, it was like watching a load of kids playing conkers. Eventually of course they tore themselves apart over Europe and handed the country over to Evil Fucker Blair. They even warned us about him...

But making it personal can backfire, as with the infamous 1997 Conservative advert showing Labour's Tony Blair with demonic eyes.
That was too heavy handed for the electorate, since most people didn't regard Mr Blair as an evil threat, says Mr Singleton.
We now know, this was a warning, because we're outside their circle we weren't to know the things about that evil shit that they knew. Although his views on wanting his own war to hang his name that he's held since his college days are now more widely known. But what could the Conservatives have said in their campaign?
"We know this one is fucking evil, please don't vote for him", they would have been sued in every court.
But we were warned, we just didn't know to listen.
